This is a sour version of our highly rated Walter Malone watermelon wheat. You don’t need to worry about needing to do a kettle sour or needing to wait a long time for the beer to be ready. This recipe uses Lallemand Philly Sour yeast which produces moderate amounts of lactic acid in addition to ethanol in one simple fermentation step. This lets you easily brew a sour beer and bottle or keg it in a few weeks.
This beer recipe kit produces approximately 21 liters of beer.
To make these kits you will need a pot that can hold a minimum of 2 gallons of water. A 5 gallon brew pot is recommended. You will need to steep the included grains for 30 minutes. After steeping the grains you will add in the malt extract and boil it for 60 minutes.
