Fermentis US-05 is a widely used and well-known American ale yeast strain. It is a ready-to-pitch, dry yeast that produces well-balanced beers with low diacetyl and a very clean, crisp palate. This yeast has the ability to form a firm foam head and present a very good ability to stay in suspension during fermentation.

• Recommended Fermentation Temperature: US-05 yeast performs optimally at a temperature range of 18-26°C, but it is commonly fermented at the lower end of this range for cleaner profiles.

• Attenuation: It has a medium to high attenuation, typically around 78-82%, which means it will consume a large proportion of the fermentable sugars, leading to a drier beer.

• Alcohol Tolerance: US-05 has an alcohol tolerance of approximately 9-11% ABV, making it suitable for a variety of beer styles, including higher gravity ones.
